Russ, thanks for catching this -- for some reason we'd omitted the Dow Jones Transportation Average Index Fund ETF (IYT). We've added it in now. Reply

There don't seem to be any transportation ETFs listed. Is that because there simply aren't any? Reply

ETF Update: Japan Goes Global; PowerShares Clean Energy; Is the Worst of the Market Chaos Over?; Endangered Internet ETF; Dividend Based ETFs [view article]
Dividend ETFs: this is where I think closed end funds have an advantage. ETFs always trade at NAV, so whatever dividend yield they pull in is what you get. OTOH, if you buy a CEF at discount to NAV, that has the effect of raising the yield. In other words, for a CEF at NAV with yield 5% would have a yield of 6% if the CEF is trading at a 10% discount. Same income stream divided by a smaller principal.

ETF PHJ has a yield of only 1.9%. CEF BDJ, Blackrock "Enhanced Dividend Achievers Trust," trades at a discount of -7.6% (close $12.94 and NAV is 14.01). BDJ's yield is 9.4%.

    Hi Roger,

Totally agree -- they certainly deserve a seat at the table. We've broken the sector ETFs into the following groups because there are so many of them:

    Global Sector ETFs
    etf.seekingalpha.com/a...

    Foreign Sector ETFs
    etf.seekingalpha.com/a...

    Primary US Sector ETFs
    etf.seekingalpha.com/a...

    Leveraged Sector ETFs
    etf.seekingalpha.com/a...

And we're going to group them into individual sectors as well.

Let me know your thoughts on the format we're using.
    Best,
    David

Hi all, I think the Rydex Equal Weight, Wisdom Tree Foreign, iShares S&P Global all offer something unique to the groups above. The PowerShares sector funds, while mostly a slightly different mix of the same names also might have a seat at this table? Reply
