  • General Electric: Genuine Risk of Collapse?
You can short treasuries.Doug Kass recently did just that and wrote an article about it. You do it by shorting TLT. Go ahead, do it, as you feel the US Govt is in a deeper hole than GE. I am not agreeing or disagreeing with you. Just giving some info.

  • Terra Industries: An Interesting Fertilizer Play
However, if you bought TNH and TRA on the day the dividend was annonced and sold on the ex-dividend day, with TNH, you came out even, (after adding the dividend that you got). However, with TRA, you lost more than $3/ per share or more than 6% loss.

Yes, he said that and was partly right,it fell from 112 on July 24, when the dividend was announced, to 106 on the day before ex-div date. I wonder why this happens, though.

jjounsbury59 is trying to set you up, so that he can make profits from you ,by further shorting of your stocks in a few days. • Why Is Mosaic Looking to Sell Its Nitrogen Segment?
While the fields are flooded, there is no crop and no need for fertilizer. No wonder all fertilizer stocks are tanking, nitrogen or potash.

  • Visa IPO Should Offer Investors Positive Risk/Reward
After CME and NYX jumped, over the first few months of their IPO, NMX got hyped, and jumped on the first day of its IPO. Those individual investors who bought that day never made any money. It jumped to $135 that day, and recently got bought out by CME for $100. So those investors lost 25%. Let this be a lesson for those who are planning to buy the much hyped Visa IPO at a premium on opening day.

  • My 2008 Predictions for Financial Catastrophe
You said first that Predictions are not your forte. You should have then shut up. Your article is baseless and unresearched. What makes you think you have the right to spew nonsense and waste our time?

  • Arthrocare's Acquisition of Discocare: Trying Put the Genie Back in the Bottle
While the issues raised are serious and worrisome, the fact that it comes from "Citron Reearch" makes me take this with a large pnchof salt. Citron Research, if you go to their websie, says they wer formerly called "StockLemon.com.&... Why do you think they chnged their name? Because they have been ued by several companies, because they short a stock and then spread rumors about thecompany, with partial truths, an by giving a one side view. They cover their shorts after they havr driven the price down. Individual invetors, wh generally invest in these smaller companies are the ones who are badly hurt.
When they are so shocked that the real nature of Discocare was not revealed, they fail to disclose upfront, that they were formerly Stocklemon and have been already sued for their business practices.
Shame on Seeking Alpha for legtimizing these scum. Makes e have second thoughts on the legitimacy of Seeking Alpha.

  • Why I'm All About Apple
I know of another company that is spending a lot on research-- that company is MSFT.
Tells you that when it comes to research, efficiency is more important than amount . So don't let numbers fool you. There are a lot more unrecognized companies out there, that in hindsight will turn out to be greater buys. I would wish the authors of this site to look into those, rather than rant about already known stories.

  • LDK Solar: Analyzing "Fishy" Analyst Actions
    Land of Laws?
    Land of Enron, Tyco, Worldcom
    Stop deluding yourself.
Ask the Chinese, Indians and Russians, what they think about your Land of Laws.
Laws are not for multi-nationals, or the large investment banks. It is for you-- the micro-investor.

  • Brush Engineered Materials Does not Measure Up to Precision Castparts
So, according to you, we should sell all tech companies, because they have to spend a lot on research. Then, you try to downplay the proprietary material "Toughmet" that is unique and the product of their research, because it is made of metals whose prices go up. Perhaps, you have not heard of "Hedging" to protect against these losses. And if they do not hedge, perhaps you are not aware of the fact that the prices of these metals also go down, and then the company can make more money? I don't think your analysis is worth the paper it is written on. It looks to me that you are a short-seller of BW
