  • Judge Denies Limelight's Motion for Summary Judgement in Level 3 Case
This is a ridiculous patent and should have never been granted as it is "an obvious" application, and not unique. Distributed systems have been around for decades and this patent is nothing more than that. Bottom feeders / patent trolls at work!

  • Microsoft Admits Apple's iPhone Is Better
Morons - here's they guy responsible for the product at MS telling you that the iPhone's accelerated graphics are unique, superior and not available, at least at the same levels of implementation, on the other devices. To say otherwise is based on pure stupidity. Apple is far ahead of any competitors in managing graphics based on decades of experience and market leadership in graphics based applications, and has transported this capability to the iPhone through the combination of the hardware and the OS. No one can match, or even come close in a handheld device. Period.

  • IBM Drops Two Bombs on Microsoft
You need to remember that Microsoft has been at office a lot longer than OpenOffice and the Linux marketplace. Open source will catch up - they have already come a very long way. The advances in the world in forcing open standards for documents will help continue to drive this trend.

  • U.S. Companies Figure Prominently in Asia-Pacific's Top Brands of 2008 Survey
This is a clear indication of the tremendous potential for market growth for Apple once they start putting more resources into this region.

  • Apple vs. Microsoft Vista: The Ad Budget Wars
No matter how much MS spends on their current campaign, it doesn't fix their underlying problems. And quite frankly, their ad campaign is horrible. It says nothing about the brand, the product, differentiation, value proposition, any of the fundamentals of great (or even good) marketing. Instead it shows a bunch of walmart types talking about how they are pc's... wow.... "got a run right out and get me one a 'dem things"...

  • Can You See Apple Under $60?
Ridiculous pronouncement with no basis in fact... especially with the opening statement "decent company with some good products". Your attempt at dishing by saying "Pollyanna's screamed it would never see $100.." is sophomoric at best... the entire market has taken a steep dive. Is that something you predicted? C at $4, Ford at $1.40... of course not.. give it a rest. You obviously know nothing about this company...

  • Buy, Sell or Hold: Apple's Cohesive Strategy to Survive and Thrive
This article has a key flaw when it comes to the enterprise market - which it got TOTALLY wrong as stated here:

"Again, the enterprise-market segment, which she knows intimately, has two main concerns:

    * Total cost of ownership, which includes the initial price for the phone, as well as the service and, very importantly, the maintenance.

    * Data security."

"The latter one is a killer for the iPhone in the enterprise market, since corporate IT departments cannot remotely shut down iPhones that are lost or are stolen as they are able to do with Research-in-Motion-mad... Blackberries. In addition, the locked nature of the iPhone makes it very difficult for IT departments to customize solutions for company use."

First, with the new OS update, you can set the phone to erase all data if someone enters the wrong passcode 5 times in a row. Further, if using MS Exchange (which is in most enterprise installations) the Exchange ActiveSync Mobile Administration Web Tool can be used to initiate a remote wipe of a lost or stolen device and view the status of a remote wipe request.

Secondly, as to customizing the phone for corporate use, the SDK receives rave reviews for its ease of developing custom apps - This is not a "closed system" as stated in the article, but a superior solution compared to other offerings.

Lastly, when calculating total cost of ownership, this article fails to realize the dramatic increases in productivity that can be achieved by the iPhone.

  • Apple Could Crush Competitors With a $99 iPhone
Why in the world should Apple race to the bottom on price? This is a ridiculous proposition. This is an aspirational brand, not a price brand. The other phone makers have screwed themselves by moving to lower price points thus reducing their perceived value to consumers. How much is a cell phone? "Free with a two year contract" is a perfect example. Let the carriers start discounting their services when you buy a great phone instead of the other way around. Cell phone makers have lost much control over their brands and are struggling because of it.

  • iPod Sales Only 14.2% of Apple's Q4 Total Revenue
You have no idea what you are talking about so why are you posting here? If you want to sound like an expert you should do your homework. These are not fad products but superior products in each of their categories with fanatical users / advocates. And the reason they are so is that these products offer a far superior user experience, are supported by a superior customer service focused organization, and are each part of a total ecosystem that interact together. So in the future, if you don't know what you are talking about, its better to keep your mouth shut.

Further, your moronic ramblings about 14% show a complete understanding of the basic premise of this article.

  • MySpace Music's Growth Balloon
This will not last. The music industry has made a very stupid move, one that is not in the best interest of artists, or the industry. "all-you-can-eat&... is not smart business and will create an even faster decline in revenues for all. This is a panic plan...

  • Steve Jobs' Fake Heart Attack, Courtesy of CNN
The person that posted this false rumor was obviously a professional trader / short seller due to the way it was written. The SEC should hunt this person down and throw them in prison for a long long time. When are they going to start aggressively stopping this crap? They should ban all short selling! Period.

  • Apple Isn't Recession-Proof
Who's post is nonsense, especially this quote - "Apple fans are being swayed by lower prices providing comparable if not better functioning toys". These lower priced products are NOT comparable which is proven time and time again by the experts. When you look at the total Apple system / ecosystem, including clearly superior operating system, significantly higher usability (ease of use and stability, lack of downtime, not having to buy / use and maintain virus and spyware software, superior bundled software included with purchase (iLife for music, photos, video etc.), better support/more uptime, significantly less downtime fixing problems, and full integration of Apple products across the ecosystem there is no comparison, and the superior value is clear. Yes, Apple doesn't build products at the low end, but clearly provides superior value and user experience. These are not just hardware issues.

  • iPhone Dev Problems: Whining or Real?
It is Apple's system to protect. And developers should be focused on developing innovative programs that don't compete with Apple's own. Its that simple. Granted, there could be more transparency in the process, which should come over time. (It is still a system that is only a couple months old.) However, coming up with apps that merely tweak or replace what Apple is already providing is not innovation. Developers need to be thinking outside the box.
