Advantages of Investing in Utility ETFs
Check out DNP, closed style, but has along track record, with a solid monthly dividend, I have held for many years, just letting the dividends reinvest and keep growing, love having this bbay in my portolfio, stable and smothes out overall volatility

      worth a look

Taking Portfolio Lessons from Yale's David Swensen
For the private equity, right or wrong, i have been using BCO's and specialize managers (what i call them) For example, for my pricate equity section in the portfolio, i am holding ALD, ACAS, MKL, and recently thew in an ETF using the PFP. All are about .5 - 1% of position size. i have not added Blackstone or GLAD yet, still doing research.

I welcome others ideas and thoughts. I always welcome ideas.

      Investing in Franchise Stocks
Cool article. Good stuff, thank you. I always looking for unique or new twist on asset classes. The franchise company definitely caught my attention.

The McD's example is also like owing a REIT. I prefer to do my global real estate buying without the hassle. I do not need to be collecting rent or fixing pipes. Just like I have no desire to run the restaurant, I have no problem owing it.

      thanks again

Tractor Supply Reports Great Quarter, Still Not Expensive
I agree completely. This is one of my largest and favorite holdings. I am generally fairly conservative and defintiely a long term, buy & hold investor.

I have made an exception here. I am carrying a double position and accumulated aggressively over the last 3-4 months. It was a great buying opportunity.

No one will see those shares for another 10-15 years from me. The nice 15% pop was welcome, as things were a little rough. (fine now that I am done accumulating)

TSCO has potential to be a long term winner. Just my opinion.

I agree. I believe it is to one's peril to ever under estimate the long term power of fundamentals.

FOMC Policy Statement: Time to Buy Heavy
I agree completely. It is go time. I am a fairly conservative, long term, buy and hold type investor. This is the most aggressive I have been in years. Just my opinion, but this is the buying opportunity of a decade, maybe the next 25 years. I am long and strong, and accumulated heavily the last 3 months across my portfolio.

With yesterdays, lackluster response to the FED decision, i put my final portfolio stone in place, by putting another 3% into financials (I used the Fidelity Brokerage mutual fund)

Fundamentally Weighted ETFs: Mixed Performance in '07
Yeah, goos stuff. I am a staunch Wisdomtree supporter and ETF owner. I experienced the brunt of the underperformance. For now, I am giving the beenfit of the doubt to the strategy. There needs to be a much larger sample than one year. The backtesting of the funds shows a much different story.

That being said, last years underperfomance was very diappointing to me. I walked through my doubt and fear and actually accumulated more.

I am a holder of DHS, EZY, DPN, DND, DGS and the WSDT tree stock itself. My positions are long term, I am a buy and hold investor.
