Pharmaceutical Facts Investors Should Know

I cannot understand why "Big Pharma" doesn't just start making a generic of their own, at the normally knocked-down price for generics. This would quickly flatten their generic compettitors. They could still market the original for as long as it lasts.

USG Corp: Another Buffett 'Failure to Sell' Mistake

Here is another example of a "trader" trying to understand an "Investor". They are totally different approaches, and almost always have verying results at any given time. I prefer th e"Investor builder" type rather than the gunslinger "trader" type, and we do quite well over th elong-term thank you.

You are both right, but remember Mr. Cramer (a very smart guy in his own right) is now in "Show Biz", and thus must pander to the dimwits of the modern American masses. Its a very profitable formula, I wish he would "go public".

Gebby you are SO correct! "If it bleeds, it leads" mentality of the press has almost destroyed their readership. Mark Twain was right on the money when he said "To NOT read a newspaper is to be Uninformed, but to read them is to be Misinformed". Unfortunately the other media outlets are folloeing in the newspapers footsteps.

Upstream MLPs and Canadian Royalty Trusts: High Return, High Risk?

There is no riskless investment. MLP's give current cash out, which reduces risk of original $. Taxes are more complex, but whatever you pay to Canada is deducted from what you owe Uncle Sam, and the "Socialist team" about to take over here. My tax adviser breezes through my returns with no additional cost. Show me a "bullet-proof&quo... investment for the next two years with a good return, and I will gladly dump my Canpoys and MLPs.

Wells Fargo (WFC) will become the largest U.S. bank by branches with its bid for Wachovia (WB), after Citigroup (C) withdrew from compromise negotiations late yesterday on concerns about the quality of some of Wachovia's assets. Wells Fargo, with a bid valued at $11.4B, expects the purchase to be completed by the end of the year, and denies it will have to absorb assets shakier than originally thought. Government considers next steps. As the financial crisis continues to worsen, the U.S. government is considering two dramatic steps to turn around, or at least slow, the damage: guaranteeing billions of dollars in bank debt and temporarily insuring all U.S. bank deposits. The moves, which would mark the government's most extensive intervention to date, are in discussion stages only. Credit stays frozen. As frozen credit markets refuse to thaw, the cost of default protection on corporate bonds reaches new global records amid investor concerns the credit crisis will trigger corporate failures as companies struggle to finance their businesses. Interbank lending remains limited, and borrowing from the Fed's expanded discount window continued its trend of setting new highs every week, as the total daily average rose to $420.2B vs. $367.8B last week. Bearish Calls:

Computer Sciences (CSC) -- This is a company that was going to be bought, but they passed up the chance. Now I don't want to buy it."
Annaly Mortgage (NLY) -- I think this is a business model that needs to borrow money. Definitively do not buy."
Northrop Grumman (NOC) -- You can't own the defense stocks right now. If I had to own one, I'd look at Lockheed Martin (LMT) with its good dividend.
