      GM Could Benefit from Bankruptcy
      No more bailout.

We should not provide 700 billion to financial at the first place. Look at what happened:

Bank stocks, insurance stocks, all lost at least 50% since the bail out.

No auto bail out please. Just go to bk. Reorganize car industry similar what airline did few year's back.

Once bail out passed, market may bounce back some but will dive afterwards.

      China Solar Companies Slowing Production
Let us find out whether the claims in this article are true during their earning report season:

JASO - tomorrow before market open
      LDK - 11/19
      TSL - 11/19
      STP - 11/20

Now the bearish camp can easily win the game because market is in bear mode and the solar sector is no exception.

Most solar stocks are traded so low and I don't know how much lower it could go.

Most lost 90% from their highs.

In general, US solar companies are valued 10 times higher than similar Chinese solar companies based on their current and forward PEs

      Solar Stocks on Sale
No matter how low/high oil price will go, the wider use of solar energy will be the great future development. No one can change the trend.

The reason is simple: the technology is becoming mature, cost is going down, it is time for large scale applications. Sunlight is free, clean.

California has a bill for voting in election day:

"Solar energy will count at least 20% of total energy generation before 2010 and 40% - 50% by the year of 2020 - 2050."

Long all solar stocks, specially deep discounted solar stocks such as JASO at 3.7, YGE at 3.59, SOL at 4.96, TSL at 10.50.

      Unthinkable.

Ambac Collapse: Anticlimax of the Week
I totally agree that the ratings should be suspended for the time being.

I also question on the timings of the possible downgrade bu Moody's.

ABK stock is heavily shorted. The news that the government will ban shorting selling for the time being resulted in the big rally on ABK.

      ABK stock is clearly manipulated.

      The same thing happened again:

I did not see any bearish view on solar last two weeks when they are in uptrend.

Whenever they are in the bottom, bashers appeared.

Yingli Green Energy: Tidy Earnings Bump Up Against Anti-Solar Sentiment
Solar stocks prices let me remember two years ago shipping sector.

In particular, I owned DRY in June 2006 when DRY was traded less than $10.

It was so cheap, big earnings, quarter by quarter, but Wall Street repeatedly said that dry shipping is a very risk business because the rates could up or down big.

But one year and half later, the stock went to $130, a 1,300% gain. The whole sector flied including EXM, TBSI, ... just name a few.

I believe that solar sector stocks as a whole (I mean Chinese solar stocks) are in bottom now. As long as they kept growing as they are now and in the near future, the stocks will be much higher in one year.

Ignore all the noises, do you own analysis.

Our fund now is over-weight on solar sector.

      TSL best in the group:

      Q2 est EPS has gone up a lot from $0.71 -> $0.80, 2008 from $3.14 to $3.24, 2009 from $4.09 -> $4.35 by analysts.

At $28, it is grossly undervalued.

      LDK Q2 est EPS 0.42, price 33
      STP Q2 est EPS 0.33, price 33
      CSIQ Q2 est EPS 0.45, price 28

Not to mention US solar stocks.

China's Giant Interactive Should Buy Rival 9you
      I agree with big-papa.

The Wall Street's worry has its rationale. GA just invested 51.com and Shi should learn from the failure of his own aggressive over expansion he made in 1990s when his software product was a big success.

Often it is the case one may most likely to repeat the mistakes. If he feels very good on himself it may be the time to fail.

Of course I bought big yesterday before close at $9.00 and I am expecting small bounce today. But I will be very careful on GA's long term strategy.

Very good article and give inside info on the company.

We just added the stock into our long term portfolio. It is a steal at $4-$5 level.

One thing concerns me though is how the company is going to turn to profit.

If the company always burns investor's money with no return, no one will buy it.

Will Some Solar Companies Face a Cash Crunch?
The main customers for those solar companies are in European countries such as Germany, Spain, etc.

These countries have the long reputation of doing good business practices. I don't think that they will refuse to pay the deliveries.

It is normal to pay in 30-90 days. Don't let those to scare or mislead small investors.

The publish of this article at this time is a good indication that the solar stock prices are approaching bottom.

The same type of article is also appear on Yahoo by Motley Fool last week.

Solar sector will keep growing for at least the next few decades. We expect new technology will be developed, cost will be bringing down, efficiency will increase. Wider application will be expected.

Solar energy is a good, clean way to solve long term energy shortage problem. As SUN provide huge amount of energy to the earth free.

If we only use very small portion of it, we can completely get rid of oil. Oil will be used up sooner or later. Solar energy will not.

Chinese solar companies have the cost advantage compared with US companies. Some companies also do have their own technology.

I will continue investing in the future of our clean energy industry no matter how the noise bashes the industry poineers.
