The Triple Play: Oil Addicts, The Credit Crunch and Deflation
We need to develop our domestic sources asap. In addition we need to start developing alternative sources- coal, nuclear, solar, etc.

The $100+ dollar/barrel oil prices are a blessing in disguise, because they make alternatives economically possible. But they will kill us (potentially literally) if there is no organization around developing the alternatives.

This is coupled with a collapse of our financial system. That is the 1, 2 double punch and you are out.

We need, in addition to the above energy scenarios, to TakeBackTheFed.com

If we do not get off our duffs, we will truly be in trouble. NOW IS THE TIME TO ACT.

Bernanke's Fed: Fox in the Henhouse
Come on, dve850, the Fed encouraged the creation of the bubble. Liar's loans were no secret. EVERYONE knew what was going on. By extension (if not inclusion) this includes the Fed.

They create the bubble and try and control it. When it bursts, then they do have to mop it up.

The answer is not to consolidate more power to the fed. The answer is to

      Nuclear Power Is in Demand
I do not whnat to promote panic, but we are in the midst of a financial collapse, as well as on the road to an energy crunch. We need to develop all rational energy sources- and nuclear is rational.

We need to be very careful about limiting ourselves because of highly speculative theories like man made CO2 causing "global warming". Let's get real, we may be approaching a real global disaster here. See the May 8th commentary at my site (middle clumn, down a little).

As for the financial collapse, consider:

      Heeding Market Warnings
Thanks Galewhitaker. I talked a bit about peak oil (as a worst case scenario- if we do not act) in my May 8th commentary.

I do see $130 barrel oil as an opportunity to get the alternative energy process started. Sometimes I wonder if it is not a policy just for that purpose.

Credit Default Swaps and Counterparty Risk: Beware What Lies Beneath
CDS are a big part of the derivatives bubble created by the Fed. If the bubble goes all at once, we are doomed. The Fed is now trying to deflate its own bubble (oddly by reinflating it). They caused it, they are trying to save it, WE will pay for it.
