Can Six Flags Survive this Roller Coaster Ride?
What affect would the reverse stock split have on SIX if any? My thinking is to buy now (.49/share), capitalize on the "reverse", then buy PUTS. What do you all think?

Wall Street Crisis and the "Cable Connection"
I agree with you regarding the debt loads. With the US economy seeming to be going down very slowly, consumer spending has to slow with it. I believe those x-tra household items will be paired first, one being cable television. The Cable's may have a consistent revenue stream with high speed internet, but other than that nothing else. Someone other than Charter (With $19 billion in debt) will crumble and have to sell off assets. Also, unless I am mistaken, U.S. cable companies just have U.S. market share and have no global presence. If this is not true, someone let me know.

Is Countrywide Financial Headed for Bankruptcy?
If I have it correct, did Bank of America only purchase 'some" assets of Countrywide? If so, are the remaining assets those that Bank of New York are suing to recover from? Who would be the liable party? Good Article.

Why I'm Still Out of Mastercard and Visa
I would still buy either. Remember, spending on discretionary items may be down. However, many other things are used with the VISA and Mastercard cards. For example, paying bills online as well as necessary items (Utility Bills, mortgages, etc...). I still think both have room to grow. Ignore the stock price and look at the fundamentals

      Earnings Preview: Global Payments
I have had my eye on this company, and the sector it is in for a while. They seem to be the only "recession proof" type of entity as electronic business and consumer transactions are growing and predicted to continue growing. I wonder if anyone has a "high price" stock target.

      Plenty of Bidding for Borders
I have a Borders Reward account, but have not used the card for the past 7 months. I go to Amazon.com instead for purchases. I think someone will scoop this company up in bankruptcy, or at least wait until the stock drops below $2, that way their valuations for purchasing can be lower (Ex. JP Morgan and Bear Sterns)

Pair Trade Visa and Capital One
Good Analysis. I wonder do you all consider the same for Discover and American Express. Like Capital One, they are lenders of unsecured debt, and are probably lowering their credit limits for cardholders as well. Does anyone think bankruptcy looms, as I hear GE is having a difficult time in selling their credit card portfolio.

Will This Summer Be Six Flags' Last Ride?
      Todd,
I agree my friend. When Dan Snyder and his investment group, along with the investing arm of Bill Gates, led a management shake-out, I was optimistic as well. However, nothing seems to halt the losses or the debt load, and I do not see any upside in this company. UNLESS, you buy the bonds and try to get the real estate in bankruptcy.

Goldman's Sirius Call: Solid Thesis, Poor Timing
You may have something here. I do not think the financial fundamentals are too ripe for the satellite radio industry. For example, the lack of advertising (The last time I checked anyhow). Plus, consumer spending is down, as well as the purchase of vehicles. Unless they create a new product, I do not like the viability of either company as a public entity, maybe private, similar to what happened with Satellite phone service. Those companies went bankrupt(Iridium and Globalstar) and did not show any type of consistent revenue generation until, I hate to say, the war of terror started.
