Another Knee-Jerk Proposal From Christopher Cox
Does anyone know what counterparties are net providers of this insurance and can they pay? You say the buyers and sellers of CDS's are the same people but obviously that's not true since AIG just went south because of them. Warren Buffet and many others have warned us about how potentially destructive they are to the financial system. I feel like there is this elephant in the living room and everyone is looking the other way just hoping that some CDS fairy godmother is going to make it all better.
Sorry Felix, I am not going to feel better until this complicated mythical world of derivatives comes clean. Unless of course you can prove that it "all just nets out".

Bond Outlook in Light of the Treasury Plan
I am not worried about executive compensation any where near as much as I am about the Credit Default Swap "mortgage related" products. I sure hope Congress doesn't get so hung up in politics that they don't exclude these "mortgage related" derivatives from the "Plan".

      Wall Street, R.I.P. Now What?
The American Taxpayers should not buying any responsibility for the "mortgage related" Credit Default Swaps or any other derivative that can be loosely called "mortgage related". I sure hope Congress is smart enough to limit the scary totally open ended "Plan" delivered by Paulson. If not, we are really in deep trouble.

Fannie & Freddie: Just the Tip of the Iceberg
JUST THE FACTS - I HAVE A QUESTION. I AM TOTALLY CONFUSED ON THE CDS ISSUE AND NEED SOME HELP.

      WHAT WOULD HAPPEN IF:
1ST INSURERS' DON'T HAVE THE CASH/CREDIT TO BUY?
      AND
2ND, IF THE INSURERS DO HAVE THE CASH/CREDIT BUT THERE ARE NO BUYERS FOR THE NEW CDS?
