Is a Ban on Short Financial ETFs on the Horizon?
"The naked-short ban is yet another move into socialism." And this is bad? I am not a financial genius but I like many others have put my life savings in 401K and IRA's. When I see a few getting rich while my account dwindles it's a little disconcerting to say the least. This is capitalism and this entire financial mess is it's offspring. We need more oversight because people can not be trusted to do the right thing.

U.S. Oil Production Today Same as in 1948
There's enough blame to spread around. Do speculators run the price of oil up? What a stupid question! Of course they do and anyone who feels to the contrary is kidding himself. This entire business adds little if nothing to the efficiency of the markets. Look at the stock market and how the stocks go up when oil prices fall and vice versa. Which would the most want? A healthy stock market or fat oil companies who are producing at 1948 levels!!? It should be out-lawed in that only those that actually take possesion of the oil are allowed to speculate. While they are at it, outlaw this short-selling and naked short-selling business. It's ridiculous and the fact that the practice even exists is a scandalous blemish on our financial system. The more I have become aware of these practices the less faith I have in the stock market. I'm sure I'm not alone.

Is the Global Economy Drowning in a Sea of Black Gold?
Speculation needs to end. Just look at Bear Sterns. They had $18 billion in liquidity and it was all lost due to speculation and rumors. It's a sad state of affairs when so few can make so much profit from the sweat of so many.

      The After Hours Oil Scam
I have also heard alot about OTC trading which is not reported to the government nd would be a perfect means for buying futures contrcts and manipulating the price of oil. The CFTC needs to make these guys accountable but the head jackass at CFTC really sees no problem with the way things are. Must be that he's making a whole lot of money and I'm sure would like to preserve the status quo. This entire business is rife with corruption and I have contacted my congressional representative and told him that things must change. If Congress will not move on these issues then we must move on Congress and send the incumbents a clear message.
