      I thought at one time credit was used only when needed for things like gas when you were out near dead falls WY and there was no bank to get cash nearby. You paid by the card and covered the debt when you got home... oh well excuse this little one for being so naive...

      When you get rid of capital gains taxes that penalizes savings and rewards spending like there is no tomorrow then you might get savings up... as for this one a savings rate of 20% each paycheck does wonders for fiscal discipline

      Having seen how many of these places are in former farming areas around large centers how about dismantling the copper piping and all that other good stuff to sell in the salvage market, burn what remains of the aforesaid surpluses and then reconvert the entire area back to agricultural land? As we don't even know if there is even a market for surplus homes....
