      If congress would get off the oil crap and get behind NG Opec would be put in it's place and the U.S. would be less dependant, the dollar stronger, economy would recover faster, greener emissions from NG burning cars, WE have plenty of NG!!!!! Also the infrastructure is already in place. You don't have to wait until they build NG gas stations when you can refuel you NG car in your own garage using the gas connection already there!!!!!!!!1

      Governments Shouldn't Meddle in Oil
      I would be willing to bet my paycheck that if the government took the oil tax shelters/rebates/incen... breaks/ etc... and dropped it into solar/wind/natural gas/geothermal/etc... that oil would drop like a rock!!! sure the rest of the world is still dependant, but America is the one who sets the direction. If we change, the rest of the world will follow. period.

      Corn, Ethanol and Water
      Did everyone forget that the quickest way to reduce foreign oil dependance is Natural Gas?
      Firstly, there is plenty of it right here in the U.S. and may be used as a bridge to get us to the next energy step. (electric)
      Secondly, it's MUCH cleaner.
      Thirdly, IT'S CHEAPER!!!!!!!!!
      Fourthly reducing our depenance will strengthen our economy, and the dollar.
      Fifthly, Infrastructure, Infrastructure, Infrastructure. A car that runs on NG can be refueled in your garage at your house. It's still a little time consuming, but the benifits are huge!
      The car they have overseas that runs on compressed air can also use NG. Bus lines in some of the larger cities run on liguid NG.

      It is a great part time solution but it cannot be the only one.

      Peak Oil Stocks for the Future
      Being "independant"... from foreign oil means nothing in a free market. The market and demand will determine the price, so even if we were independant, the oil we have would be sold to china or someone else that has the higher dollar for it and our gas would still be high. One thing I was suprised that hasn't come up. The number one consumer of fuel in the USA is OUR MILITARY! Come November, when the democratic party is in the white house, and 150,000 (now unemployed) troups come home, you can expect that oil demand will ease off. You can also expect unemployment to rise, and inflation to take over. I think NOW is the time for investors to look closely at building CNG (compressed natural gas) stations. I recently was looking into a new Honda that runs off of CNG and It has its good points and its bad points, but in the long run I find that it will create a significant competition to oil industries and more car manufaturers will "feel" the demand for this type of vehicle if the CNG stations are already in place. By the way, they also have a way for you to fill your tank in your garage, from the existing natural gas line in your house. That part of this type of infrastructer is already there.

      Options Trader: Friday Outlook
      For some reason, as I read some of these comments, I am reminded of the "barrel of oil for a bushel of wheat" concept. Seems as though those were much simpler times, but it made sence. We didn't really need the oil then but they needed the food. Now that fuel is so outta sorts, it seems food is following. Someone on here said something about not trading their natural resource. Well that would be fine, but how long do you think they would go without food if our farmers didn't help out the world? (like the sanctions, it doesn't work) because as it was in Iraq... those that have or are in "favor" are not the ones hurt by it. It's the little guys. JUST LIKE HERE! $4.00 a gallon to someone making $500,000 a year just isn't the same as it is for the guy making $5.75 an hour! So please people think before you post this crap and remember that readers out there come from all walks of life, and comment on what effects them and their surroundings and family, just as you do!
