Is There Tightness in China's Money Market?
This was a very interesting article, and really shed some light on the banking system in China. With that said, some of the observations made by your diligent students seem to indicate something more than a simple liquidity problem. While I am sure their credit issues, many of the lending and money market problems seem to indicate some possibly illicit behavior. Honestly, I do not know what to make of it, keep up the investigating!

Dollar and Euro: Different Week, Same Drivers
Hello, what are your thoughts on remarks from the Fed's Stern, when he stated that a rate rise can not wait until a recovery in the housing markets? While I agree that much of movements in the FX market is oil and earnings driven, the speculation on future interest rates is still central as well. While some believe Bernanke will cave to the pangs of inflation and follow the path of his European counterpart, this is not a certainty. What are your thoughts on the spread between the Fed Funds and Eurozone rates?

Volatile Market Conditions: To Stay Profitable, Make Quick Trades
Yes, as stated earlier, this time presents phenomenal long term opportunities. Even if we do go into a recession, buying etf's of some of the emerging markets, financial sector or even some construction firms will pay off big time. The only concern that I have is we enter into a period similar to Japan's lost decade, where we dont collapse, nor recover...but simply drag on like this for years.

      Cheers

Research in Motion Rallying Ahead of Earnings
I agree that RIMM is slightly unpredictable into earnings, especially in this kind of market. While there is the possibility that the company misses earnings targets and pulls back, it is much more likely the earnings they announce meet or beat expectations. The strong global exposure and high profit margins explain why RIMM is a popular long for both individual investors as well as the professionals. Not only do the pros own @2-3 Billion worth of RIMM in their funds, but they have been increasing their exposure quarter over quarter. The link below shows how much the top hedge/mutual funds, have been increasing their position.
