      Portfolio Preservation in a Down Market
      "Buy and hold" is a sales gimmick.......
      "Diversification&... is a sales gimmick......
      "Dollar cost averaging" is a sales gimmick but can be useful for many people in an IRA.........
      "Efficient market theory" is nonsense........
      Puts, calls, Cramer, Brinker and over 90% of mutual funds are BS... (ETF's are superior).........
      Just be sure to set your "stops"........ an exit strategy is the most important thing in investing... IMHO
      Buying individual stocks is for fools........ IMHO
      KEEP IT VERRRRRY SIMPLE !!!!!

      Inflation? Deflation? Who knows? The monkeys on Wall St and in Washington sure don't know. They created the problem so why do ppl think they can fix it.

      The Smartest People to Follow
      Use a 400 dSMA......
      Above the line use VTI or even better, FFNOX (Fidelity 4 in 1 fund) for less volatility......
      If the equity index fund (or FFNOX) drops below the line then switch to TLT or IEF.......
      TIP's are a waste now.........
      Best in an self directed IRA.........

      I do use CGMFX in my taxable acct.....OUCH... 10% payout last year......... PRPFX also.. a great fund, tax efficient and great quarterly stats........

      I've been in FSMEX (Fidelity select medical equipment) for a long time and it's very stable........... ck the quarterly reports and risk assessment at Yahoo financial....... very low standard deviation and very good Sharpe ratio

      Swiss francs ( FXF )
      GLD
      DJP
      TIP
      FLVCX ( FIDELITY LEVERAGED FUND )
      Taxable..........
      FCSTX ( Fidelity short/intermediate muni fund )
      CGMFX ( Ken Heebner is the best but had a big payout in December )
      NO STOCKS EVER
      KEEP IT SIMPLE AND ALWAYS BE PREPARED TO BAIL OUT !!!!

      Why I'm Still Holding Onto Gold
      "GOLD IS GOOD".......... been in it 3 years and since the dollar which is being destroyed by the fools in Washington and on Wall St. it looks like I'll be in it a lot longer....... Swiss francs (FXF) are good too....... I sold all American junk and have been heavy into Canada (EWC) and Brazil (EWZ) for over 2 years........... DJP is a favorite .......it's all about things in the ground and grow out of the ground from here on out folks, believe it.......... BUT, be sure to set your stops... :) :)

      300 day SMA for EFA

      However, I prefer to deal with more stable, well run countries such as Canada ( EWC 300dSMA ) and Switzerland (EWL and FXF ).
